Lauren Stichter (bio)

Lauren Stichter (she/her) combines her love for art with a deep commitment to making education accessible and equitable for everyone. She holds a BFA in Ceramics and a Teaching Certification from Tyler School of Art at Temple University, along with an MA in Education from Arcadia University. Over the past 25 years, she has balanced her work as a ceramic artist at HyMy Pottery Studio with a meaningful career in education, including her time as a PreK–12 lead art teacher at the Pennsylvania School for the Deaf.

Now serving as the director and associate professor of Art Education at Moore College of Art & Design, Lauren focuses on developing thoughtful curriculum, building partnerships, and supporting student growth. Outside the classroom, she shares her knowledge as a keynote speaker, guest lecturer, and advocate for inclusive education. In 2024, she was honored with the Art Educator of the Year Award from the Council for Exceptional Children’s Division of Visual and Performing Arts Education, the PAEA Art in Special Education Award, and the PAEA Outstanding Art Educator of the Year Award, recognizing her dedication to the field.
